For her graduate capstone at Pratt Institute, Korin looked at the role of community organizations in siting green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) in Philadelphia. As part of her capstone, she conducted a thorough GIS analysis to recommend neighborhoods that would benefit the most from green stormwater infrastructure (areas dense with impervious surfaces, neighborhoods experiencing urban heat island effect, etc) and are in opportune locations (high home ownership, local stewardship organizations). The initial GIS analysis helped drive outreach to community organizations to collaboratively look for GSI opportunities within the neighborhood.
