Sure We Can is a non-profit recycling and community center in Brooklyn. It started as a center to redeem plastic, glass and aluminum cans for 5 cents a piece, and has evolved into a safe space for "canners", a center for art and education, and community composting. In 2016, Sure We Can started to expand its composting footprint to local restaurants in the growing neighborhoods of Bushwick and Williamsburg. Compost is picked up by bicycle and brought back to Sure We Can where it is processed into mulch for gardens. This map was developed for a grant to show the number of restaurants in a one-mile radius that could be potential compost pick up customers, in an economically changing neighborhood.
